Twyford Match
2025

Shipston-on-Stour and District Angling Club had a match at Twyford on the river Avon, it's a venue that we haven't fished for a long time and one that we shall definitely be going back to.

Byron Yates won the match, He caught a chub of 5 lb 03 oz plus dace and weighed in 10 lb 12 oz, Stuart Fleming came second with 10 lb of mainly dace.

James Yates had a section win with 9 lb 08 oz, Andy Burt had a section win with 6 lb 04 oz and Pete Hill had a section win with 8 lb 03 oz.

We would like to thank Andy Burt for his help and for letting us have a match there, we also made £60 on the day for the juniors from the peg fees. Great days fishing on a cold and wet day.

JAC CHARITY MATCH 2025

Shipston-on-Stour and District Angling Club came third in the Annual JAC competition, a good solid team performance on the day. It's a good result for us as we were up against 15 other teams. Cadence Superteam won, Jets Broke back came second. Shipstons team of Stuart Fleming (captain), Steve Beard, Kelvin Tallatt, Peter Morgan, Pete Kilbride and Leon Truscott did well to claim the third spot against tough opposition. This event is a fund raiser for juniors anglers and £800 was made on the day.

Well done to all involved in making this event run smoothly, always good fun and it's great to raise money for the junior section

HELP FOR HEROES CHARITY MATCH, NEWBURY, 2025

A great day out yesterday fishing the Annual Newbury HELP for HEROES charity open match on the K & A canal at Enborne, a group of Shipston anglers went and as always we were well looked after with bacon rolls to start and post match meal at the Lamb afterwards.

Gary Didcock had a great win with 18 lb 12 oz of mainly perch and it was mainly a roach and perch day with a few decent weights. For a few of us it was a bit of a struggle,

Well done to Newbury angling association and especially Dave Smith for organising it and £1000 was raised which is what it's all about and thanks toThe Lamb pub in Newbury for looking after us.It was Great to catch up with the Newbury guys, it was fun as always.

Next up is the JAC match  this Sunday organised by Baileys of Warwick which supports the junior anglers which is another good cause.

Shipston and ADDQC have a 3 man team league starting the week after. Teams or individuals are still welcome to book in, this competitive league is open to any anglers. Contact Shipston or ADDAC club for more details.
